EXTREMELY RARE AND HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT
In his great conquest of the world Alexander the Great conquered Sidon in 333 BC when he was moving south towards Egypt. After his conquest Sidon was allowed to strike silver and gold coins in the name of Alexander. Present coin was struck only five years after Alexander conquered and visited the biblical city.
